Functional Lab Testing | Gut Health | Hormone Balance | Metabolic Health
I’ve always been fascinated by how the body works and the connection between physical and emotional health. My background began with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, followed by earning my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I worked in acute care during the height of the COVID pandemic, where I witnessed both the strengths and limitations of traditional healthcare. That experience also opened my eyes to how important it is to prioritize health before problems arise and sparked a deeper interest in longevity, prevention, and supporting the body long term.
Like many women, my path into functional medicine became personal. After experiencing my own hormone imbalances and rapid fibroid growth, I was told that a hysterectomy would likely be my next step. What I struggled with most was that no one could explain why it was happening in the first place. I wanted answers, not just symptom management. That search led me to functional medicine.
Through working with functional medicine practitioners myself, I discovered an approach to healthcare that aligned deeply with how I believed healing should happen: preventative, investigative, and centered around understanding the whole person rather than reacting to symptoms after the fact.
Today, I combine my background in psychology, physical therapy, and functional medicine to help women better understand their bodies and uncover the root causes behind symptoms like fatigue, hormone imbalance, digestive issues, weight struggles, and burnout. I take a science-based approach, using functional lab testing and personalized plans to create practical, sustainable strategies for healing.
Much of my work is centered around a three-body-systems approach: supporting the stress response and hormones, restoring gut health, and improving detoxification pathways. I believe symptoms rarely happen in isolation, which is why I look at how these systems interact to understand the bigger picture and help uncover the root cause of imbalance.
My goal is to help women feel heard, supported, and empowered with answers so they can feel better in their bodies again.
Test Offerings:
-
Your gut influences far more than digestion. It impacts your immune system, hormones, mood, energy, metabolism, and inflammation.
The GI-MAP is an advanced stool test that evaluates the health of your digestive system and microbiome. It helps identify potential imbalances that may be contributing to symptoms such as:
Bloating
Gas
Constipation
Diarrhea
Food sensitivities
Acid reflux
Fatigue
Brain fog
Skin issues
Autoimmune conditions
This test looks at beneficial bacteria, harmful bacteria, parasites, yeast overgrowth, inflammation markers, digestive function, and immune health within the gut. Since nearly 70% of the immune system resides in the digestive tract, identifying gut imbalances can be a critical step toward improving overall health.
Best for: Digestive symptoms, autoimmune concerns, chronic inflammation, skin conditions, and unexplained fatigue.
-
A Window Into Your Metabolism, Energy Production, and Cellular Health
The Organic Acids Test provides a comprehensive look at how your body is functioning at the cellular level.
Using a simple urine sample, this test evaluates:
Energy production and mitochondrial function
Neurotransmitter metabolism (dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine)
Nutrient deficiencies
Detoxification pathways
Oxidative stress
Fat and carbohydrate metabolism
Gut microbial activity
Yeast and bacterial overgrowth
Many people struggling with fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, depression, weight loss resistance, or poor recovery have underlying biochemical imbalances that standard blood work may miss. The Organic Acids Test helps connect the dots and provides valuable insight into why you may not be feeling your best. The test includes markers related to neurotransmitter metabolism, energy production pathways, liver function, and gut microbial activity.
Best for: Fatigue, brain fog, mood concerns, weight loss resistance, poor exercise recovery, and complex chronic health issues.
-
Understand How Stress Is Affecting Your Body
The Adrenal Stress Profile measures cortisol and DHEA throughout the day to assess how your body is responding to stress. These hormones influence:
Energy levels
Sleep quality
Blood sugar regulation
Mood
Metabolism
Weight management
Hormone balance
Chronic stress can disrupt cortisol patterns and contribute to symptoms such as fatigue, mood swings, weight loss resistance, poor sleep, PMS, low libido, and digestive issues.
Using multiple saliva samples collected throughout the day, we can identify patterns that help explain why you may feel energized at the wrong times, crash in the afternoon, wake during the night, or struggle to recover from stress. Research evaluating a functional medicine approach found improvements in fatigue, stress, vitality, and quality of life when addressing adrenal and digestive imbalances.
Best for: Fatigue, burnout, sleep problems, anxiety, weight loss resistance, hormone imbalances, and chronic stress.
Testimonials
“I had spent years being told my labs were ‘normal,’ yet I still felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and unlike myself. Kasie finally gave me answers that connected the dots. I felt truly listened to, and for the first time, I had a plan that felt personalized to my body.”
